New Found Glory - Radiosurgery

Anthem For The Unwanted
I'm Not The One
Ready, Aim, Fire!

This album really came out of left-field for me. Their previous album was a return to their melodic hardcore roots (after dawdling around in acoustic rock, it was a welcome return), and with this album it's like they said "Fuck it, we just want to be catchy as hell." And that's exactly what they did. The greatest "light" pop punk since the glory days of MxPx. Insanely catchy. It's still in my CD player in my car.

Ben Folds Five - Whatever And Ever, Amen

Full Album inc. bonus tracks

One of the most important albums in my life. It's an understatement to say that I still know every word to every song on this album - I subconciously start singing these songs all the time. I used to fall asleep to this album on my walkman. Ranging from the fast and loud, especially for the infamous Song For The Dumped, to light and more reflective, like on Missing The War - this album has it all. Each song tells its own story and each is its own little masterpiece. Might have been the greatest album of the 90s to feature a piano.

Windir - Arntor

Full Album

There will never be another band like Windir and there will never be another album like Arntor. It seemlessly blends black metal, folk metal, actual viking metal, and then that sort of medieval dungeon tone that only Windir can do. This is a hell of an album and easily my favorite Windir release.
The art to this is really cool.

Radiohead - The Bends

Full Album

Radiohead's best 90's album that actually sounds like 90s music. Tons of unique and memorable songs despite mostly being formulaic rock songs. Just shows that although Radiohead is certainly a different beast nowadays, the could write good ole-fashioned rock back in the day.
You just explained why I hate The Bends

But street spirit makes up for it, so it's all good... Seriously that's not just the best Radiohead song by a fuckin' kilometer (yeah bitch I'm using the metric system, you know I'm being serious) it's one of the greatest songs I've ever heard... beautiful...

I'm unsure how to feel about this album in the grand scheme of things. On the one hand, it fucking rules, but on the other hand, I have reservations about it's blending (see also- my user title). I guess it's more of a case like Pantera where there was nobody like Windr, but the imitators, DEAR FUCKING GOD THE IMITATORS.

Tapping into a realm of extreme hatred that I didn't know was possible, DIS's first album is one of the scariest, most pissed off albums I've ever heard and I love every second of it. Especially the serial killer sound bites really play into their awesome brand of blackened death metal. SO heavy!
Thank you for this!

Anthrax - Among The Living

Full Album

The catchiest album by any of the Big Four. I was actually super surprised by how much I absolutely love this album because I'm not a big fan of anything else by Anthrax. But there's just enough thrashing mixed with melody and catchiness to make this an instant favorite for me!

System Of A Down - Toxicity

Full Album

Whether you want to call it Nu-Metal or Alternative Metal or whatever, no one does this style of music better than System of a Down, and nothing even comes close to matching Toxicity in terms of heaviness, uniqueness and groove. This is by far System's best offering (although I love everything they've done) and everyone needs to own a copy.

Judas Priest - Metal Works '73 - '93

Disc 1
Disc 2

The absolute perfect jumping-off point for anyone looking to get into Priest. It has all their hits + deeper cuts on two huge discs. From early stuff to Painkiller and even some live tracks too, it really does have everything. It's the release that led me to buy tons of Priest albums. Awesome!
