Muse - Black Holes And Revelations

Starlight
Invincible
Knights of Cydonia

There's a ton of awesome prog/pop/hard rock here and it all fucking rules, from the softer songs (Starlight, City of Delusion) to the more rocking songs (Invincible, Assassin), but the thing here that's so amazing is the 6-minute epic that is Knights of Cydonia. If you take one thing away from this album, it should be that you need to hear that song ASAP.

...AJFA would have a real shot at being the best Metallica album if it weren't for the shockingly awful production.

Saint Vitus - Born Too Late

Born Too Late
Dying Inside
Look Behind You

Any self-respecting metalhead cherishes this album with every ounce of their being. This is our "we know we're outsiders but we don't care, fuck you!" album that every good genre has. Unbelievably heavy as most of the songs crawl at a stoner pace. Also can't replicate that awesome guitar tone of Dave Chandler anymore. The most metal pink object in existence.

Still the best one in spite of that, IMO. Not like their other albums have particularly stellar production that it makes TOO much of a difference if you ask me.

Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness

Immortal Rites
Maze Of Torment
Lord of All Fevers and Plague

I'm okay with saying this is the best old-school, classic death metal album ever recorded. Heavy riffing, awesome solo's, blasphemic overtones...it just bleeds metal. Was obsessed with this one for a looonnnng time. Still watch the DVD that came with it pretty often!

Black Breath - Sentenced To Life

Feast Of The Damned
Endless Corpse
Mother Abyss

One of the most aggressive, angry, and downright evil albums I've ever heard. That perfect combination of old-school hardcore infused with thrash metal and death metal that makes songs like Wolverine Blues so good. I really wish Black Breath was a lot bigger than they are now - they really deserve it.

New Found Glory - New Found Glory

Sincerely Me
Hit Or Miss
Sincerely Me

A landmark in pop-punk records. Really does combine the best of both genres. Goofy love songs disguised as melodic hardcore/punk anthems and it spawned a fucking army. These were the blueprints that were laid down for the perfect pop punk album, but it was another album that perfected the sound...
