Marduk -- Springfield, VA -- February 20th, 2013
First night of the Marduk tour with Moonspell, Inquisition, The Foreshadowing and Death Wolf. There was a local opener as well, Helgardh from West Virginia. I didn't get there until Inquisition was about to play, they were the band I wanted to see most. I don't have a set list for Moonspell but I do have them for both Inquisition and Marduk.
Inquisition played: Embraced By The Unholy Powers Of Death And Destruction Ancient Monumental War Hymn Crush The Jewish Prophet Desolate Funeral Chant Empire Of Luciferian Race Cosmic Invocation Rites Nefarious Dismal Orations ![]() Marduk played: Serpent Sermon Nowhere, No-One, Nothing On Darkened Wings Throne Of Rats Deme Quaden Thyrane Azrael Temple Of Decay Baptism By Fire Panzer Division Marduk The Leveling Dust With Satan And Victorious Weapons Still Fucking Dead (Here's No Peace) Souls For Belial They also had an encore song not listed which I *think* was Funeral Bitch.

Awesome, I'm seeing this on Sunday!
And how come did The Foreshadowing suck? I kinda like that band. Edit: Read your review. I guess it's a matter of taste. Really good write up though!

Thanks for the sets and write ups. Bummer inquisition is only getting half an hour, they are the main reason I'm going
Any inquisition hoodies at the merch table? Also, which side of the stage did Dagon have his mic stand on?

Could the encore have been wolves? That set list is pretty much the same as the one they did in Australia recently(according to set list fm), only thing different is the song ordering.

Yeah again, IMO I was... not impressed with them. Musically they had no flaws and didn't sound horrible. But the songs, I thought they were lame and uninteresting. Now don't let that prevent you from liking them if you like ...lower key more moody stuff. Nothing wrong with that. Just not my teas

Marduk didn't play "The Leveling Dust," even though it was on the setlist. "Deme Quaden Thyrane" was really cool to hear live, but other than that I thought their set was disappointing. I didn't stay for the encore.
Inquisition was the best band of the night. They totally surpassed Marduk (which reminds me of the last time I saw Marduk live, when Weapon opened for them and did the same). Moonspell were a lot better than I had expected. The new songs sound good and I'll probably check out the new album soon (thanks for the setlist tenchimyo). I only got a good look of Inquisition's merch, but I did notice Moonspell were selling shirts with their old black metal logo. Inquisition was selling their "Baptized," "Magnificent Glorification...," and "Lucifer" shirts (which can also be found here: http://holymountainprinting.bigcarte...ry/inquisition), but the "Lucifer" shirt was black print on a red shirt. $20 each.

I have a photo of all of the Inquisition merch they had at the show below, click it to view larger. They had the same guy doing merch for them as Marduk and Moonspell, which means they probably were forced to price match cause $20 for those shirts is a bit steep. The Foreshadowing had shirts for $18 but they were doing their own merch.
