Soundgarden -- Los Angeles, CA -- February 16th, 2013
Holy rarities Batman! The band basically played a greatest hits set on Friday, so tonight was packed with a fuckton of older awesome stuff. I honestly couldn't have asked for more songs I love from this setlist, I heard pretty much all of my favorite Soundgarden songs. Chris' voice was really rough for the first half hour, Jesus Christ Pose didn't sound too hot as a result. Dude started sounding a lot better after that song though. He sounded really great on Rusty Cage, and he was outstanding on Beyond the Wheel. I'm not even kidding, Chris' performance on this song was one of the most intense I've ever seen. Matt Cameron is also a total beast of a drummer, the fucker seriously hits hard. His son helped on guitar during Eyelid's Mouth, which was cool but it wasn't really anything too special. Band played from 8:30 to about 10:30. Two hours is more than enough for most acts, but I'm a little disappointed that we got what is probably their shortest set on this tour so far. Especially since the cheapest tickets were 74 fucking dollars. Again, cool show, but goddamn do I miss my 74 bucks. Since last night was nothing but well known recent songs and this set was mainly older stuff, I'm sure tomorrow night will be a mix.

That's weird they went on so early. Every show I've seen at the Wiltern didn't end until around 12:30 or so.

The tour was advertised as having no openers and the doors opened at 7. It was a longass wait for them to go on lol. I think the band have been giving themselves 2 and a half hours to play every night by starting at 8:30 and ending when they feel like. But yeah, I haven't gotten out of a non-matinee show this early in a long time.

That's awesome. I don't know much Soundgarden at all but they just got a few more points in my books for doing a set like this. Every band should do that.
Can you imagine how disappointed all the casual fans who could only get tickets to this show were?

The show last night was good too, although nothing from Louder Than Love. Not sure if I will post the set or not.
