To me "giving it a shot" does not involve buying it. The good thing about today's music industry is that you can prevent yourself from rewarding shitty work.

Wouldn't class any of those as "good work".

Well, the thing is I'm not expecting a great album but I think some of the samples sound cool so I'm actually expecting to enjoy it at least to some degree. I don't know what it is about new Megadeth and me, I may just be sick in the head. But like I said earlier in the thread, I've actually come to find the title track fairly catchy and I listened to Dance in the Rain last night and I enjoyed it.

But I don't hate Risk or all of Thirteen either, the only Megadeth album I absolutely hate is The World Needs a Hero.

I mostly agree. I don't hate The World Needs A Hero, but it is definitely my least favorite Megadeth album. It drags on too long... and Return To Hangar? Seriously?

Eh, so I listened to Risk again to see what IMO was worse. Tough to say, they are both bad in different ways I would say. I would have to give the edge to Supercollider for being worse. W/ Risk some of it is bad (at times laughably bad) but I think Dave was atleast honest about what Risk was. He didn't try to say it was this or that, as opposed to how he talked up Supercollider and how it was the best thing they'd ever done, etc.

I don't think there's anything about Risk that is good, its all just not very good but he atleast had the balls to go all in and do something 180 of what Megadeth was doing before. As safe and cashed in as 13, I refuse to type it in that other stupid way, felt like at the time as a way to contractually finish w/ Roadrunner. 13 actually feels dangerous if compared to Supercollider. It feels cashed in, half ass, and any other synonym or phrase that would describe the like.

I still think that Kingmaker is a good track and I like the Thin Lizzy cover. Even w/ liking those 2 songs I still think Risk is better of the 2. Definitely not anything I would brag about w/ Risk being greater than Supercollider but, to me, its not the worst for me anymore.

Think I might try World Needs A Hero but I will give myself a day or 2 to recover from this.

Endgame is the best Megadeth album since RIP.

Never got the love for Countdown. It's not bad, but I don't enjoy listening to it.
