-1. Murder Construct - Results


This, my friends, is a perfect album. While Monolith Of Inhumanity pushed to see what they could do with a genre, Results is a genre done in the absolute best way possible. While their self titled EP was just a cool album, this is something far greater. It is an album that must be listened to in its entirety, and I would argue that it's the best material that anyone involved has been apart of. This album hits me in a similar way to From Enslavement To Obliteration in the sense that even if you don't know any of the song titles, you know exactly how the album flows and what hits where. The production of this album is ridiculously organic, with everything sounding crisp and meshing together perfectly. This album has been most definitely overshadowed by Monolith, and I initally didn't think it was as good, but as the year progressed I started listening to Monolith less and Results more. And Results gets better upon every listen.

The NYDM legends brought the slams. I wasn't aware at the time that the only original members in the band right now are the guitarist and drummer (and I think they had a fill in at the show), but the material sounded identical to their classic debut Prophecies Foretold. They gave us a preview of their now released album "Controlled Elite" with one of the songs from it, it sounded cool but I didn't really dig the new CD much. The sound is there but it's nowhere near as memorable as the first album. Check em out if you aren't familiar with them, its like Suffocation stripped of all of the technicality in exchange for awesomely catchy riffage

I need to see these guys live.

16. Abominable Putridity - The Anomalies Of Artificial Origin

Look at that fucking cover art. This album took forever to get released but its awesome. Overproduced (in a good way?) slam with Matti Way of Disgorge, Cinerary, Pathology fame on vocals. It's just a solid brutal death album, simple as that, and Matti's vocals are excellent as always. Seriously though, that fucking album cover.....

Some may call it overproduced, but it's my style of production. I love how clear and audible it is. FUcking great slam album.

Fuckin great slams. Only thing that kills this album is the awful snare drum sound.

8. Dying Fetus - Reign Supreme


Another career-defining release of 2012. While Fetus is fun live, I've never really willing went out of my way to listen to their studio material. It's always sounded pretty stale to me. This release, however, is different. The mix pops, the guitar tone is deliciously crisp, and the songs arent just DERRR SWEEEP DERRRR. The emphasis on slams gets a major thumbs up, these dudes really delivered this time around
