Brad, I'm curious why you don't like Cloud Nothings? (I saw your blog.) Attack on Memory is my favorite album of the year, and I don't even like that style that much. I also didn't really like The Men or Japandroids, which ironically enough are the two bands most commonly used in the same sentence as Cloud Nothings.

Eh, I just don't find them particularly interesting. They do what they do fine. They were kinda bad live, but I don't totally hold it against them given they were playing through a rainstorm. They just don't really click with me.

I dig so many of Aesop Rock's beats but I find his rap style completely boring and have never been able to enjoy a full album by him. I have the same problem with MF Doom (except Madvillany that will always be a classic).

I haven't listened to all of Skelethon, but what I have heard I thought was great. The production is top notch.

Aesop Rock has always been one of my favorite MCs. I love his lyrical style and he puts on a good show too.

Blasphemy.

If it wasn't for Death Grips, Skelethon would be my favorite hip hop album of the year by far. I think it might actually be Aesop's best album, it definitely is production wise. I didn't know that chick who raps on Crows is the girl from Moldy Peaches. That's pretty cool.

Baroness fans unite! This was a fantastic album, even if it did shock the crap out of everyone.
