I don't feel like arguing about it again and clearly it's just my opinion, but I still can't help but laugh when Whitechapel fans complain about the new album and praise Somatic Defilement.

It's just how people are. They always want to say the first album is the best because it makes them sound cool, and they can say they were a fan from the start. But anyone with open ears can tell the new album is clearly a major improvement in every way possible.

Emmure are what they are, they pretty much suck but have an energy about them live that's fun to watch. Whitechapel is way, way more talented.

I haven't been a fan since the beginning. Somatic Defilement is just a better album. Best album of it's respective genre in fact. It's dumb, fun deathcore, not that nu-metal infused crap that's on the self-titled.

The definition if Nu Metal must of changed somewhere along the line if there is any Nu Metal influence in anything WhiteChapel does.

I think it's mostly the spoken word parts which give it a nu-metal vibe.

Yeah, this. The influence is just too pronounced on the new Whitechapel and most deathcore releases of the past year and a half.
