Anette Olzon out of Nightwish

This is really surprising. I understand that she was being a bit of a diva a few days ago, I didn't think it would lead to this, however. Logically there were things happening behind the scenes I'm certain, but nonetheless...so thankful I saw them this tour.

Mixed emotions. I feel proud because I got to see the next to last show they ever did w/ Anette on Thursday. I thought everything seemed like it was fine but of course that was on stage so of course no way to tell.
When she got bent out of shape that the girls from Kamelot sang for her during the Denver date that seemed like beginning of the end. I'm more partial to Anette because when I really got into Nightwish she was their singer not Tarja. I'm also glad to get this tour because I know that the majority of these songs won't be played again, rather it be w/ Tarja or whoever the new singer will be. I don't understand all of the hate on Anette. They put out 2 very good albums w/ Anette as well. There was always talk that Tarja begain exhibiting diva like behavior towards the end of her Nightwish run too. I call it revisionist history. I would like to see them get Tarja back since I never did get to see her originally. If not, I have faith they will still find another great vocalist.

I could tell something was up when Anette made those comments a few days ago, but I dodn't really expect this either. Never got huge into Nightwish past the basics so I'm not really affected by this, but it's still surprising this would happen mid-tour.

Even though I dug the Annette material and overall style more than Tarja's, I know the band can do better. Personally, I thought Elize Ryd pulled off the material great. I don't know if she'd get asked to join or if she would accept, but I'd dig it.

With Floor Jansen taking over, whom I really like in Star One and After Forever, I might have to go. We'll see if they change the setlist at all tonight. Hell with a better singer, even the Imagnarium songs might sound better.

PLEASE bring Tarja back now! It was her unique opera style singing that I love the most about NW. While Anette has a great voice, it's also a bit more average sounding.
