I don't get all the defense of this band. They were a joke when they played deathcore; now they play third-rate, uninspired, mediocre death metal. If they were a high-school / local band they would be fine; but they get onto big national tours.

Job For A Cowboy gets far, far more shit than they deserve. I'm not saying they are a groundbreaking death metal band, but people make it sound like they are the most uninspired and worst band on the face of the earth. They put out a far less monotonous and just plain better record imo than the headliner of this tour (Cannibal Corpse) and people still don't give them one ounce of credit. If Ruination or Demonocracy was their first album, they would be in far better graces around here and in the metal world in general.

I think Job for a Cowboy fans want to believe this is true, but really, the only thing that would be different is that people wouldn't call them a deathcore band. When it comes down to it, their music is still bland. I've listened to Ruination as well as some songs from Gloom and Demonocracy, and the riffs are just forgettable. I'm not saying it's devoid of interesting parts or that it's the most uninspired thing ever, but there's nothing that grabs me and makes me want to listen to it again.

Except Goatwhore is boring in my opinion, and Exhumed is one of the most overrated bands in existence. They're just generic deathgrind/goregrind/whatever you want to call them. It's generic.



I'm not even saying Job for a Cowboy is necessarily a good band (Demonocracy is a good album though), but it's hilarious that they still get the deathcore label and shit on by everybody, while Goatwhore and especially Exhumed get universal praise.

Ok ok ok guys, I'll tell the Michael Keene story

It's really not much, quite high school, and although I said I have personal beef with him, I really meant "We have a bumpy history", I am REALLY am over what happened, but it's still like "Come on dude"

So about 4 or 5 years ago I was dating this chick who had actually met and become friends with Michael Keene. Her and I got together, and Michael came off as quite jealous, to me at least.

At the Meshuggah/Cynic/Faceless show he walked past me and my GF at the time, she said hi to him, and I said "Hey dude, whats up!?", he just looked right through me and walked away. I saw him a few more times that night, and he kept mean mugging me and just giving me bad looks.

That's about it . Just stupid girl drama. Like I said though, I really don't care about what actually happened, but it's still quite a dick move on his behalf
