Yeah, my friend told me about this last night. Really sad. True Romance is one of my favorite movies. I haven't seen anywhere even speculating as to why he did it though.

R.I.P. All opinions aside, he committed suicide, which means he died a truly tormented man, whether it be because of his cancer or some other reasons.

May his work out-last the circumstances of his death.

They said there was a suicide note in his car and a formal one at his house.
