Anybody else have those coincidences when a band you're listening to, reading about, thinking about, etc., comes on the radio right in the middle of doing said activities? I just was listening to "Heading Out To The Highway" and "You Got Another Thing Comin'" came on the radio. Happens to me all the time.

The last time I saw Enslaved there was one song they didn't play called the Watcher that I really wanted them to play. When I got in my car after the show the first song that came on the radio was the Watcher.

My friends band used to always open for Hardcore bands, I made the mistake of staying up front after they played and once got kicked in the back of the head for no apparent reason, and thats why I rarely ever stand in the front anymore, unless its a band I absolutely love, or can find a safe little section to hide in

Moshing to hurt people is beyond moronic. I don't see how anyone can enjoy going to these shows for specific bands since a good amount of modern hardcore is homogenous.

You just said a ton of people got hurt and that means it was an awesome show.

I understand that moshing and whatnot is part of a hardcore show, but it's not the whole fucking show.
The show itself was awesome. The bands all sounded great and it was the first time two of them (the two most violent sets) played in Chicago.

I didn't know I had to give a full run down for everything and couldn't instead just say it was a good show. People getting hurt sucks, but it happens and theres always the chance of it happening if your in the pit.

Still though Backtrack proves that their still one of the best hardcore bands around. Harms Way and Downpresser were just heavy. Suburban Scum and Incendiary were awesome and heavy as tits as well. Expire was great, short, fast, songs to two step to.

Once you crack far down into hardcore not really. There is enough of a difference to separate most bands. Plus for a lot of these hardcore tours they don't book every band that sounds the same.

Not that you have to, but when all you comment on is that people got hurt and that it was a good show, your post may read like people getting hurt=good show.

Is hardcore "two-stepping" that thing that looks like 90's ska dancing or "skanking"?

I like harcdore, hardcore shows and certain activies that come with it moshing, corwdsurfing, stage diving, etc.

That being said when I partake in such activities my intent is never to hurt peeps or be violent. Shows should always be about the music and participating in such acts in a safe manner. Bands like ETID, TDEP, Enter Shikari, etc all go bat shit crazy live but their intentions are never to hurt people.

This is what came up when I looked up hate moshing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciH-fMemZX0

Fuck that. I've seen this happen at shows before. When I saw Nails and Xilbaba this shit was happening left and right. At one point I saw some 300lb dude just rush some like 115lb kid for no reason and threw gut punches and messed him up. This dude was the definition of an asshole and what is wrong with the hardcore scene.

Shows should never be intentionally violent. If you want peeps getting hurt you are sick. End of discussion.
