Marshall Amps: 50 Years Of Loud concert (Europe)

n celebration of its 50th anniversary, Marshall amplifiers have teamed up with Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain and announced that they will be putting on one of the years must see concert events, ‘Marshall Amps: 50 Years Of Loud.’

Metal juggernauts like Iron Maiden, Slipknot, The Cult and Black Label Society; along with many of the world’s greatest shredders, including Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, and Mr. Big’s Paul Gilbert have already signed for the event, which is set to take place on September 22nd, at Wembley Arena in London.

In an official statement, McBrain had the following to say: “This is truly a celebration of a British icon – Marshall,” adding, “Beyond doubt, Jim Marshall and the team have shaped the sound of rock music for eternity…We’re bringing together beyond-legendary artists for a moment in history. Expect pure rock ‘n’ roll madness amplified to the max by Marshall!”

Marshall’s Head of Artist Liaison, Paul Marshall also released a statement. “Over the five decades of Marshall’s history, practically every guitar hero has used Marshall, Richie Blackmore, Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, Slash, the list goes on…This event is a celebration of the Marshall family and we are honored so many artists want to get involved!”

Only a few weeks until this show.

Amazingly it looks like Nicko McBrain has dropped out. But newly added:

Mike Portnoy
Andy Fraser
Kerry King
Phil Campbell

Still think the whole thing needs more singers at the moment...

Yeah, no idea why the deal went south, the JSX is a hell of an amp. Both times I've seen him with Chickenfoot he was playing JVMs.
