All DVDs are overpriced when they first come out. It's why buying them straight away is dumb. Unless you have a giftcard or something. I also use those to get something brand new, or something that doesn't tend to lose its value.

What difference does having a gift card make? It's still wasting money.

They make the difference of precisely the value on the gift card, obviously

But it depends where it came from. Most of my gift cards are free, and what would be the point in using them on something for which I was already happy with the price? It's far more logical to make something for which the price was too high become reasonable.
