Headphone recommendations

I've had my pair of Sennheiser HD 202 headphones for almost 6 years now. They were very good, but are starting to wear down after excessive use. I'm looking for something that sounds very good with Metal, and some Prog Rock, Electronic and Ambient music.

I'd also like to keep it within $150 or so, maybe a little bit more if the quality is worth it. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Definitely a great brand. I'm actually eyeing the Sennheiser 280 PRO.

Do it. Those sound excellent, I still use my royally fucked up pair that I've owned since 2009 because they sound so good.

I'm on the Sennheiser train too. I have a pair of HD-555s which I believe are not being made anymore. It's not just that they sound good, it's the physical comfort for long listening sessions. No other headphone I've tried has been as comfortable.

Sennheiser is excellent. One other pair you might consider in that price range is the Grado SR125e. You really can't go wrong with those two brands. The Sennheisers can withstand more wear and tear though if you might be traveling with them.
