Nolan said they wouldn't even reference the Joker out of respect for Heath. I wouldn't say Rachel was replaced like nothing cause it took place 8 years after The Dark Knight so Bruce had some time to get over her death.

I think he meant they replaced Katie Holmes with Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Oh yeah. Well Heath is much harder to replace. If they tried to have someone else emulate Ledger's performance it would have came off as insulting.

Christian Bale came to Denver today to visit the victims of the shootings at the hospital; what's even cooler is that he came without letting the press know until he was there to not make it look like a publicity stunt
