Last night I got out of the Black Cobra show at about two in the morning and was walking towards my car and thought I was hallucinating because I saw an endless stream of bicycles at the end of the street, as I got closer, I saw that I wasn't hallucinating, there were cops directing traffic as thousands of cyclists made their way through the streets of Chicago. My car was right on the other side of the street from this and I had to wait for fifteen god damn minutes of a continuous flow of cyclists before I could finally get to my car and drive an hour home.

During an Amorphis/Samael show at the Opera House in Toronto in 2008 the fire alarm went off during Samaels set. You could barely hear it above the music. After fifteen minutes the fire department showed up but the show kept going. It was funny seeing ten firefighters in 100lbs of equipment making their way through the venue as a metal band was playing and people were moshing around them completly oblivious. Attendance was low so they didn't have much trouble making their way through. A few of the firefighters had this bewildered "WTF are we doing here" look on their faces.

The Mohegan Sun venue is inside a casino. So after the Metal Masters tour was this throng of metalheads filing out and blackjack and craps players had to be subjected to "PRIEST! PRIEST!" chants for a good 3 minutes.

At a Testament show in London back in about 2008 this short, fat nerd-who-lives-in-his-parents'-basement type guy is there just wandering around the standing section at the side of level 1 (the venue has four levels, ground is all standing, 1 is a C-shape and is standing on the sides, seated in the middle, 2 and 3 are all seated - biggest venue I've ever seen Testament headline in the UK!), and seems totally harmless enough, if maybe one geek short of a LAN party.
Every now and again during the support he disappears to get a beer and comes back, but never stays in one place. That continued through the first few songs of Testament, then after a while some person goes flying past me and I hear a bunch of people shout "what the fuck?" I look round and this nerd guy is shoving people out of the way to get to the rail. He forces his way onto it, and proceeds to move along it towards the stage, shoulder charging whoever is standing next to him, but the whole time he never looks at them and keeps headbanging. He eventually gets to me and I don't move. He hits me twice with his shoulder and I realise he's too big for me to keep this up, so on the third time I step back, he goes straight past me and hits the concrete pillar to my right, bounces off it, stumbles down the steps by the exit to the VIP seating in front, seems completely oblivious to what has just happened, and ends up on the corner rail, still headbanging. He grabs the rail and starts swinging back and forth on it, pulling the rivets out of the wall on one side. Eventually security turns up and he goes full retard; starts fighting with them and pushing them. It takes four of them, one limb each, to carry him out of the venue.

![]() ...and just for the record, I'm on the pro-moshing, pro-stagediving, pro-crowdsurfing side of the fence - but that's just plain fucking stupid. Dude is lucky he didn't get charged with assault. Seriously, what the fuck?

So anyway, not that I'm trying to be a wet blanket here (although you might be tempted to think so, based on the above
), but what the fuck really qualifies for posting in this thread? I've seen a lot of crazy shit in the past 25-30 years at shows, such as broken noses / bones, animal blood, human blood, people crowdsurfing in wheelchairs, fights, equipment malfunctions, incredibly stupid comments from band members / audience members, completely hilarious comments from band members / audience members, incredibly lame performances, surprisingly awesome performances, thunderstorms in the middle of outdoor sets, moshing in the mudpits created by said thunderstorms, partial nudity, complete nudity, people fucking in bathrooms, people fucking underneath blankets at outdoor concerts, running into Matt Pike in the exact same bathroom of the exact same venue twice on two completely different tours, most of the members of Baroness bowling (badly) a few hours before their headlining set, Chuck Schuldiner's face inches away from mine as I screamed the words to "Pull the Plug" into his face, and Watain in all their smelly glory...just to name a few.So which ones qualify? I could hijack this thread for days.

![]() Maybe this guy lost a bet or something but for whatever reason he held up this during an entire 3 day festival. Every band I saw where this guy was present in the crowd commented on it.

...All of them. ![]() On topic with the thread, when I saw Opeth in Austin last year on the Heritage tour, someone ran up onstage during Folklore and grabbed Mikael by the shoulders. Venue security rushed up and grabbed him, took him offstage, and down to this one area by the soundboard where they had a word with him (I think). I turned to my friend and told her that I was worried that "we were gonna have another Dimebag moment" for a second there, mostly because Stubb's security was actually pretty good, and the fact that someone got onstage from the side (where they tell you to fuck off if you linger too long) was alarming. She then proceeds to punch me in the arm and tell me not to joke about that shit (I was serious, by the way).
