In what is undoubtedly the blockbuster guitar virtuoso tour of the summer, Dream Theater’s John Petrucci, ex-Nevermore shredder Jeff Loomis and Animals as Leaders mastermind Tosin Abasi are teaming up for massive U.S. stadium and arena tour! All three will have solo bands in tow — NO VOCALISTS!! — for what is sure to be a rowdy evening of shred, shred, shred ’til you’re dead!

Marking a major departure from their usual hardcore and black metal-centric coverage of heavy music, the trek is being presented by the power quartet of Pitchfork, Stereogum, NPR and Brooklyn Vegan. We’re glad to see our bros in metal stepping outside the box a little and recognizing such virtuosic players as these three insanely talented gentlemen.

The first five thousand fans to arrive at each show will receive a free Shred ‘Til Your Dead fanny pack, so make sure you get there early.
