Rammstein -- Philadelphia, PA -- April 26th, 2012
Sonne
Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen Keine Lust Sehnsucht Asche zu Asche Feuer Frei! Mutter Mein Teil Du Riechst So Gut Links 2-3-4 Du Hast Haifisch Buck Dich Mann Gegen Man Ohne Dich Mein Herz Brennt Amerika Ich Will Engel Pussy The entire lower level of the arena appeared to be sold out (or close to it), but the entire upper level was empty. Joe Letz opened the show with a Rammstein DJ set from 8:30 to 9:00. Some of the songs prominently featured in the DJ set were Ich Tu Dir Weh, Feuer Frei!, Du Hast, and Engel. There was also a video screen which had snippets of Rammstein's videos, or their logo set against fire, etc. I'm not usually a fan of electronic music, but I enjoyed the DJ set, probably because I had a good buzz going at the time. Rammstein began as soon as Joe Letz ended (no set change). The band entered to a small B-stage near the soundboard. A giant walkway lowered from the ceiling, and they crossed over the crowd to the main stage. Ollie carried a torch which he used to light two cauldrons on either side of the stage, then they started Sonne. I thought it was kind of a strange track to open with, but it had the same giant pyro as usual, so it certainly heated things up right off the bat. During Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen, Till had sparks flying from his hands (like the Live Aus Berlin DVD), and pillars of fire that surrounded him. A large pit opened in front of me during Keine Lust. Sehnsucht, Asche zu Asche, and Feuer Frei! back-to-back were incredible, all with the same pyro as usual. Mutter was surprisingly intense live. There were people waltzing in the pit during the intro. Flake was in the kettle during Mein Teil (like the Volkerball DVD), and they played a slightly extended version which allowed him to be roasted twice, first with a small flamethrower, and then with a giant one. Near the end of the song, Flake escaped the kettle and ran around the stage, and there were red fireworks falling from the ceiling in his path. Du Riechst So Gut, Links 2-3-4, and Du Hast got great reactions from the crowd as would be expected. The pyro was the same as previous tours, including Till using the "bow and arrow" that shot sparks during Du Riechst So Gut. Flake crowd surfed in the raft during Haifisch. Then Richard appeared on the B-stage and played the Buck Dich intro on keyboards (like the Family Values Tour 98 DVD). As he did this, the walkway lowered from the ceiling again, and the rest of the band made their way to the B-stage. Four band members walked on their hands and knees like dogs, and they were escorted on a leash by Christoph (like the Mein Teil music video), who whipped them several times. There was no fake penis during Buck Dich, but Flake smacked Till's backside with a florescent light tube, and Till had a mouth attachment which sprayed milky water into the crowd. Mann Gegen Man and Ohne Dich were intense, partly because I was in the 3rd row at the B-stage, so I was right in the action. I caught Paul's guitar pick at the end of Ohne Dich. After Ohne Dich, the walkway lowered again and they crossed back to the main stage. Just like Mutter, Mein Herz Brennt was surprsingly intense live. It was awesome to finally hear Amerika, although Till omitted the lyrics "This is not a love song." I was never really a fan of Ich Will, but I think I finally understand why they always play it, because the crowd was quite lively during it. Till had the giant wings during Engel, and the sudsy pink cannon during Pussy. Overall I'd say the setlist was just about perfect (although I would've liked to hear Stripped), and the stage show was easily in the top 5 best that I've seen. This will likely end up being the greatest concert that I attend this year, which is kind of depressing since it's only April. If you have a chance to go to this tour, FUCKING GO. It's awesome. Pretty much the same thing at the Baltimore show.
However, during the Buck Dich intro, when they were walking across the catwalk, some crazy fan jumped and caught the bottom of the walkway and started to climb up. Security went in a frenzy and yanked him down/knocked him down. He then looked like he was escorted from the premises |

I also wonder if any of the band members have ever fallen out of the raft while crowd surfing?

By far the best show I have ever been to. I was front row in front of Richard (I waited in line for 7 hours to get that spot). It was crazy how Richard will stare at you for a straight minute if you are singing along. Paul and Till both pointed at me throughout the night so I went full-on fan boy. Crowd was great and I met some awesome people plus got 2 picks from Richard. Now I'm just planning on how to get to Cleveland in a couple days.

So does anyone know why SetlistFM doesnt have any Rammstein setlists? I thought that was a little strange.

They claim it's because they are afraid of being sued but Rammstein (since around 2011) has got new management so SetlistFM shouldn't have a problem now.
