Man you would not believe the tribute band culture in Ireland and (I think) Britain. Any band who are currently super popular will have tribute bands - Kings of Leon, Snow Patrol, Coldplay. Some even make it to small club venue level for things like Christmas and Halloween club nights.

It isn't that bad here, most popular cover bands are 90's nu-metal
