The Official "Pro Wrestling" Thread

Saw that John The Drummer suggested one and I've been wanting to make one for a while. So let's discuss all past , present , and future about Pro Wrestling.

Let's see, from 1984-1992 and again from 1996 -2002 wrestling was awesome. Presently, there needs to be more guys around that are as good as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan otherwise the future is gonna suck worse than it does now.

I think that just about covers everything.

Up until about 2000 wrestling was good.

CM Punk's good as is Jericho. Got to see CM Punk as a no name jabber whose job it was to just take a beating about 12 years ago.

But we need more stuff like ECW and WCW. Two best companies ever.

I grew up watching Hulk Hogan (and later, Randy Savage), Sgt. Slaughter and The Iron Sheik (among others) on Sunday mornings.

Then I got away from watching wrestling for many years.

Then, back in the early 2000's or so, I watched for a year or two while Goldberg was a big thing. He was the only one I liked, and I used to watch entire episodes just to see his matches. Everything else was crap to me. Goldberg was the shit.

Now I don't give a fuck anymore (again).

That just about sums it up for me.

Goldberg was awesome. If you ever saw the DVD that was released called "The Rise And Fall Of WCW" they explain how making Goldberg lose was the worst mistake they ever made and how after his loss they knew the company was going down.

Well it was definitely the beginning of the end of my watching WCW, that's for sure.

Awesome thread!

I must agree that WWE needs more people like Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, everyone else is so stale and boring. Jack Swagger? Dolph Zigler? I'd rather watch Brooklyn Brawler wrestle the Great Khali in an Iron Man Match.

I turned it on for a second last night and caught the "CM Punk is drunk" thing with the cops and the sobriety test, that was fucking stupid.
