Ok so going to mayhem fest again this year but dont have huge knowledge of most of the bands. I really never have listened to anthrax, motorhead, as i lay dying, high on fire, whitechapel and slayer (listened to some slayer). My question is what are some songs i need to know for the show. I got pit tickets and dont want to be bored up until slipknot not knowing anything and only knowing the radio hits of slayer. so if you can please provide me a setlist that i could be expecting and songs i should know so i can start listening thanks guys.

Listen to any of Slayer's first five albums!

I guess with Motorhead, I'd start with the albums Ace of Spades, Overkill and No Remorse

For Anthrax I'd go with the albums Among the Living, Spreading the Disease, Worship Music, Persistence of Time or Fistful of Metal.

I'd personally avoid As I Lay Dying.

You really can't go wrong with any of High on Fire's albums, but I personally started on Death is This Communion.

I personally like Whitechapel's first album, The Somatic Defilement, but most people here hate them.
