Random but my cousin called me today and told me out of the blue that there is a 99.9% chance that he has a backstage pass with me this year and that he'll take me to watch The Ghost Inside and Every Time I Die from the side and also he said he's pretty positive he can get me a interview with TGI since he use to play with their manager. Also he said he'll introduce me to guys in ETID since he's friends with all of them since he toured with them and Normal Jean in 2002.

Oh the random calls I get.

Super cool. First Warped Tour I went to I saw Norma Jean and they were fantastic! I kicked an empty Rockstar can that the singer dropkicked off the stage.

Yea I'm hoping he can get the pass. Watching and meeting all the bands from the side of the stage would rock as would a interview with TGI.

Last year at Warped though during Winds Of Plague they had everyone pick up whatever they could (mainly trash) and on the count of three throw it in the air. It was insane to see.

I Call Fives

Genre: Pop Punk, Powerpop

Top tracks according to their Last.FM:

1. Elevator Music
2. Hand Me Down Luck
3. Easy To Say States Away

Their brand of pop punk has more in common with the likes of All Time Low, so it's a bit bubblegummy, but it's still not terrible. I probably wouldn't watch these guys, but it's a good alternative to most other powerpop bands.

Rating: 6/10

Dates playing: July 19th - August 5th.

I Fight Dragons

MANKY'S SEAL OF APPROVAL

Genre: Chiptune, Rock

Top tracks according to their Last.FM:

1. KABOOM!
2. The Geeks Will Inherit The Earth
3. Heads Up, Hearts Down

I know people who absolutely hate this band, but I really, really love them. They play a great combination of catchy rock with a heavy chiptune/8-bit influence. When I saw them open for mc chris, most of the songs had modified videogame controller instruments, including a DDR mat! It was really cool and I'm super stoked to see them again. Think if Jonathan Coulton rocked a bit harder.

Here's some of their covers I really like:

Why Bother (Weezer)
The Future Soon (Jonathan Coulton)
And Your Bird Can Sing (The Beatles)
And here's their live mash-up of Mario Bros. and RickRoll

Rating: 10/10

Dates playing: All dates.

Impending Doom

Genre: Deathcore

Top tracks according to their Last.FM:

1. Hell Breaks Loose
2. There Will Be Violence
3. When Waters Run Deep

You all pretty much know my stance on this band. They do deathcore worse than just about any other band on the planet. Absolutely terrible. Will keep my distance.

Rating: 1/10

Dates playing: June 16th - July 3rd.

I tried I Fight Dragons, but they're too poppy for my brvtal tastes. I did dig their video game theme covers. If they do any of those, I may check 'em out at Warped
