Gigantour -- Auburn Hills, MI -- February 9th, 2012
Lacuna Coil played first. They are always a fun live band, and I love Cristina's voice.
Lacuna Coil setlist Our Truth Upside Down Fragile Kill the Light Trip the Darkness Spellbound Volbeat was next, and they totally stole the show! Amazing! That's pretty much all I can say. Motorhead killed it as always. They're truly a great hard rock band, and a MUST SEE live band. It's worth the price of admission just to see them play "Going to Brazil" & "Stay Clean." Motorhead setlist Bomber Damage Case I Know How to Die Stay Clean Over the Top The Chase is Better Than the Catch The One to Sing the Blues (w/ Drum Solo) Going to Brazil Killed By Death Ace of Spades Overkill Megadeth headlined, and they had 3 extremely tough acts to follow. They held their own. "Forclosure of a Dream" was the pleasant surprise of the evening. Plus, "Hangar 18" & "Symphony of Destruction" are two of the finest metal songs ever, IMO. Megadeth Setlist (NOTE: I left before the encore) Trust Wake Up Dead Hangar 18 She-Wolf Forclosure of a Dream Dawn Patrol Head Crusher A Tout Le Monde (w/ Cristina from Lacuna Coil) Public Enemy #1 Whose Life (Is It Anyways) Guns Drugs & Money Symphony of Destruction Peace Sells

Because hitting a key that's right next to the dash by mistake is worth calling out someone about.
Dave desperately needs to change up the setlist. Trust and Wake Up Dead are awful ways to start a show.

I hope they bring Angry Again back into the set soon enough, I'm seeing them on Thursday and would love to hear it. FOAD is a great song too, but Angry Again is really one of my favorite Megadeth songs and has been since I started listening to them nearly ten years ago.
Their setlists lately just haven't been that great, in my opinion. |

I've been following the tour on Setlist.fm, it seems they keep on changing up a few songs here and there. Kinda hard to predict one night to the next.

Yeah, for a first timer this is probably an okay setlist (though Trust as an opener is still a big WTF?). But I've seen them three times already personally, so yeah it's definitely not as good as it could be.

I have no problems with Trust as a song, it's just a weird opener. When you're a band like Megadeth with so many awesome fast songs it would make more sense to open with a fast song and maybe play a slower song or two around the middle of the set.
