- Met up with Butcher of Birth and his girlfriend before the show. After seeing 3 Maiden shows together over the last few years, it was cool to finally go to a non-Maiden show. We were at the front of the line and hit the rail as soon as they opened the doors. The crowd was more intense than the Indy show especially during Testament. The venue was kind of cool. It is in the courtyard between a restaurant and a motel. The sound was good but Joey Belladonna was way too low in the mix. (Which is funny because at the Indy show he was so loud it actually hurt my ears at times.)
- Death Angel cut Buried Alive from the set, I had assumed because the show started late. But then Testament added 2 songs to their set, so I am not sure why they dropped it. I can't wait to see Death Angel headline again. They are an excellent live band.
- Testament added Alone In The Dark and The Formation Of Damnation to the set that they had been playing. Alone In The Dark was excellent and one of the highlights of their set.
- Gene Hoglan was still filling in for Charlie Benante on drums. It is amazing that Gene can play a full 15 songs with Testament and then 30 minutes later play a full Anthrax set. Definitely have to give him credit for pulling double duty.
- I was glad to get a full Anthrax set after the shorter set in Indy. It was great to see Scott Ian back again, even though it was kind of cool to see the Death Angel guys fill in at the Indy show.

I got to go to this show, although I had to leave before Anthrax came on (which isn't too bad since I saw them in Orlando with Slayer and Megadeth in 2010). I knew I was going to have to leave before I came though, so I was mainly there for Testament, and their set was sweet! Like you said, this was the longest set they played this tour, and they covered a ton of good ones. The crowd was pretty intense, but not to the point where you couldn't stand or anything.

At one point their speakers went out during the show, so you could only hear one guitar and the drums (although the speakers were out on them too). Still, the band kept playing as if nothing happened. However, during The Formation of Damnation, Chuck Billy split the crowd in tow for a wall of death. He told the crowd to charge on the count of three, but as luck would have it, the speakers went out during the countdown, leaving the crowd confused. Luckily, the guys said 'screw that!' and re-did it, and shit was awesome.

It was only $20, and considering they got a headline-length set, it was totally worth it. Plus, Anthrax is suppose to play a headline set at Mayhem right? I can catch them then.

We vacation in Florida once a year (if we can). Sometimes I can plan the trip around shows and sometimes I just get lucky and a show is announced for the same week as we are going to be down there. That was the case this time. We had originally planned to be in Florida the previous week but had to move the trip to the next week because of work. Then this show was announced for the week that we were going to be down there and I was like:

Was great to meet up for a non-Maiden show for sure! The audio problems almost added to the show for me, hard to say why, but I liked them.

The venue was definitely awesome! Next time I'm hitting the pool!
