Do you even think they will get a replacement for HoF's Absence?.....or will they just continue on with out a replacement for the the entire fest? If they do get a replacement, hopefully they announce it sooner than later, the show is in three weeks. My show happens to be the first date

I would imagine they would look for a replacement this week and if they haven't landed one by next Friday they will just say fuck it and change the schedule. I would venture a guess that an E1 or Century Media band lands in that spot. Probably a US band so they won't have to worry about passport issues.

If Skeletonwitch was added (which won't happen because they are doing a headlining tour), it would definitely soften the blow of High on Fire dropping off. Whoever they pick up, I hope it's someone great.

Hope they add someone shitty. I was feeling bad choosing to miss HoF in favor of parking lot parties, but now I have more reason to party. If they pick a good band, well I'm fucked.

Oakland, CA metal band HIGH ON FIRE has announced that it will be forced to miss this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival as celebrated front man and guitarist Matt Pike (also of SLEEP) enters treatment for alcohol rehabilitation. The award winning power trio (also featuring drummer Des Kensel and bassist Jeff Matz) will put its scheduled touring plans on hold indefinitely as Pike takes the necessary steps towards regaining his health.

"High on Fire would like to thank everyone involved with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival for the opportunity to be a part of this year's tour," said the band in a statement.

"We regretfully will have to bow out as our friend and bandmate begins his recovery, but very much appreciate having been asked to be a part of this summer's festival run."

HIGH ON FIRE's new album De Vermis Mysteriis was released on April 3 via eOne Music and debuted at #61 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart in its first week of release. The album's charting position represents the highest of the band's storied 14 year career.

Mayhem is finalizing a replacement to be announced soon

Instead of getting a band to replace them they should just give Anthrax, Motorhead, Slayer and Slipknot an extra song each. Let's be honest, more than likely whoever they get to replace HOF isn't gonna convice a ton a people to go all of a sudden. You may as well give the extra time to the bands that are actually responsible for selling the majority of the tickets for the tour.

Id also venture its a band that has no summer plans(let's face it I don't see anyone dropping off another package tour for Mayhem, but who knows)
