I love Motorhead but I always think of them as hard rock too. Doesn't take anything away from them, they're still fucking great.

1) Yeah, I know, but I generally equate 'more extreme' with 'more metal.' I'm not saying that's valid, though, because it's definitely not.
2) Lol, that's not what I was saying... I was saying that Motorhead's sound is classic/speed metal meets AC/DC.

Really? if I were on a stranded island and had my choice of AC/DC - Powerage or Motorheads entire colelction I'd pick Powerage every time.

I rarely hate on bands but I don't get all this constant love for Motorhead. They have 20 terrible songs for every 1 good song to me. Bon Scott AC/DC on the other hand has 20 great songs for every bad one.

I often wonder if Motorhead never wrote Ace of Spades of they would receive all the praise and accolades they do. While it's not my favorite Motorhead song it's definitely the song most people know them by.

I guess it doesn't help that I looked forward to seeing them live for years and they were boring as all hell to me that day. All bands have bad days but they had the crowd for 3 songs tops. The rest of the time people were just standing there while they went through the motions. Maybe my expectations were too high...

Personally, I'm pretty indifferent on Motorhead. There are plenty of bands I'd rather see, and plenty of bands I'd rather NOT see.

This line-up is the 2 extremes for me, I really like Slayer and High On Fire but I absolutely can't stand Asking Alexandria and The Devil Wears Prada. Between the emo kids there to see Slipknot, the drunken Slayer fans, and the scene kids there to see Asking Alexandria I am going to be completely out of my element.
