And NEEDS MORE SLAM!
I prefer Behemoth in either small doses or live. And I'm not a big fan of slam. I mean I do enjoy Devourment, Short Bus Pile Up and Abnormity... but that's about it. But there is an album coming up later that you may or may have not heard but will enjoy regardless. It's not really slam but slam fans do enjoy it. I'll make a note of it when it's next.

Rottrevore - Iniquitous

Genre: Death Metal

Dark. Raw. Crushing. These are the perfect words to describe this classic old school death metal gem. Everything about this album is just low and heavy. The riffs, the vocals, the bass, the drumming, everything is just dark and heavy. This is something you should definitely check out if you're into 90s death metal. My friend went to New York to see these guys last summer... lucky motherfucker. They do have some new material out as well. I haven't listened to it yet, but yeah, good to know these guys are still out there killing it!

Highlights:
Ceased By Failure
Spawn of Ignorance
Disembodied

Well... not the band I had in mind in my other post but uh yeah... they ARE on here of course. But there's another band you may like coming up later in the list.

Goatwhore - A Haunting Curse

Genre: Black/Death Metal

At first I was gonna have Carving Out The Eyes Of God on here as the Goatwhore album of the list, but after seeing them live again back in October, my opinion has changed a lot. The songs they played from this album were fucking AWESOME. This album as a whole is sick as hell! A great mix of death metal with some black metal, creating for an intense and heavy album. The drumming and vocals (both from the frontman and guitarist) are my favorite parts of the album.

Highlights:
Bloodletting Upon The Cloven Hoof
Alchemy of the Black Sun Cult
In The Narrow Confines of Defilement

Great album but I prefer Carving Out The Eyes Of God.

Behemoth - Evangelion

Genre: Black/Death Metal

There are a lot of later Behemoth releases that are awesome in their own way, but their last album definitely sticks out to me the most. Everything is a lot more polished on this album, especially the production. This album is very violent, Nergal sounds especially pissed off for whatever reason on here. But yeah, my favorite Behemoth release as of now. Can't wait to see them again!

Highlights:
Daimonos
He Who Brings Pestilence
Defiling Morality Ov Black God
I appreciate production like this as well. Seems many death metal fans like a more raw sound. I don't neccessarily dislike a rawer sound, but I really like clean production, like this album has.

Malevolent Creation - Retribution

Genre: Death Metal

Man, this album is fast and heavy. It could be considered death/thrash but it has more elements of death metal than thrash. Either way this album is crazy. It's hard to pick between this album and their debut, The Ten Commandments but I've always found myself listening to this album a lot more. I'd recommend people both albums to listen to, but I've personally liked this one a lot more. It never lets down being heavy and it is all around insane.

Highlights:
Systematic Execution
The Coldest Survive
Mindlock

Convulse - World Without God

Genre: Death Metal

Another 90s Finnish death metal classic. This album is a lot more upbeat in some sections, while having old school slower parts as well. While being around at the same time, this album could easily fit in with the classic 90s Swedish death metal albums back then. This album defines European death metal. It's heavy, the riffs are crushing, the album artwork is awesome, and the album just speeds by and kicks you in the face. Definitely recommended for any old school death metal fan, it's a hell of an underrated album.

Highlights:
World Without God
Incantation of Restoration
Resuscitation of Evilness
