Massacre - From Beyond ![]() Genre: Death Metal I'll be honest here, this album is fucking awesome. The guitar riffs are some of the best in death metal. So crushing, heavy, everything about them is just amazing. However, this album has so many flaws it's ridiculous. For one, Bill Andrews is a terrible drummer. Just listen to the double bass sections, he's fluttering all over the place. Rick Rozz, as stated before, had some very killer riffs, but if you've listened to Death's Leprosy, you'll know that his solos are just mindless dive bombs and wanking on the whammy bar. He makes no exception on here as well. The bass can only be heard for very few parts, other than that, pretty much inaudible. However, the vocals are great. Very low but fitting with the music. Despite all these flaws, I always come back listening to it because every riff on here is fucking fantastic. You'll break your neck headbanging to this album. Highlights: Dawn of Eternity Cryptic Realms From Beyond

Definately. One of the best albums of all time, of ANY genre, IMO.

So many quality albums and bands on this list, along with a few new discoveries. You plan on doing anymore? I enjoyed this and your thrash list a great deal.

Dismember - Indecent & Obscene ![]() Genre: Death Metal The second album from Swedish death metal legends Dismember. What separates this album from the rest of the Dismember albums is that the production sounds a lot more raw, yet every instrument sounds more defined in the process. It's hard to explain in words, just listen to any other album of theirs and then this one and you'll see. Anyway, this album is very fast and intense all around and is a perfect example of killer Swedish death metal. Highlights: Fleshless Skinfather - 1:35 for a very important lesson in breakdowns Reborn In Blasphemy

Pestilence - Consuming Impulse ![]() Genre: Death Metal Pestilence has played different kinds of metal with every album. They started out as thrash with their debut, then released this playing awesome old school death metal. They then started playing progressive metal, went on hiatus and put out garbage ever since. But back on topic, Consuming Impulse is fucking sick. This was the peak of their career, no doubt about it. Not as fast as their first album, but since it was a different change in the metal they were playing it made sense. The guitar riffs and vocals on here though.... damn. Some of the finest in all death metal, and so many riffs on one album. Listen to this immediately if you haven't already. Pestilence: The Process of Suffocation Chronic Infection Out of the Body

Misery Index - Heirs to Thievery ![]() Genre: Death Metal/Grindcore Probably my album of the year from 2010. Ever since I saw these guys live with Dying Fetus 2 years ago I was hooked on them like no other. This album is fucking FAST. The drumming on here is phenomenal. The vocals are really powerful as well, making the album even more chaotic. The guitar work helps pick up the fast pace the drums set, along with some sick Dying Fetus kind of riffs here and there. This album is fucking awesome and is arguably one of the best releases of 2010. Highlights: Fed to the Wolves Heirs to Thievery - My favorite Misery Index song. I'm proud to say that after months and months and more months of trying and practicing that I can play this on drums! You Lose
