My post wasn't totally serious. I've signed the petitions and stuff. I'm just saying if they made the homepage redirect to something and then allowed me to actually view the site I would be more inclined to do what they're telling me, but by making the site inaccessible it feels like they're trying to force me into it. I would have done it in the first place, so there's no reason shut down the site.

This is really scaring the shit out of me. I know this doesn't some of you guys (JD) but it's not just about music, and porn.

Not to sound like Indestructible here, but if this passes, we have even less freedom then before. Hell we already can be picked off for doing absolutely nothing, arrested and left forever rotting at Guantanamo Bay without given a trail, or even a reason why you are there. If this goes, we can't even look up free, legal information anymore. THAT'S FUCKED UP!!!

Also, I'd be out of a job. My show is an internet radio show, that goes bye bye if this passes.

This can't pass...it just can't

We're only getting bits and pieces of what these bills actually contain here.

What legal things are they going to prevent? As a general principle it's hard to see a problem, to be honest. But I have no idea what other things are in the bills.

Bascially this bill will be exactly what the bill they just passed a few weeks ago was.

The one a few weeks ago pertained to the government can take ANY individual that they think is a potential threat, arrest them and hold them for as long as they want without a trial or probably cause.

These two bills is the same thing except internet websites and blocking their sites, suing the IP addresses, and other similar things.

Where they demonstrate that the content breaches copyright law, yes?

With the way the government is now, I would be surprised if they actually did meantion where it breaches copyright laws.
