They are, sort of. Dead Roots Stirring didn't click with me 'til like the 4th time I listened to it and by then I didn't want to alter my list any further because I had already started it.

Purple Buffalo was a pretty mediocre release. I could predict the whole album after the two title tracks. Every song was the same thing. "Oh hey guys, I got a chord progression. Oh hey, my chord progression is getting louder. And louder. AND LOUDER. Now it's done."

It sits at 51 on my list.

There was definitely good musicianship and the trumpets and vocals were defintely great. Song-writing was lacking though. It's not bad, just not good.

Slap, I think you need to listen to the album again. I feel I know you well enough by now to know what you like and appreciate and whatnot, and I feel pretty confident in saying you'd like this album if you gave it a fair shot, which, if your remarks serve as any indication, you didn't.
