Macabre -- Chicago, IL -- December 23rd, 2011

Actually made it to the show after 12 hours of work and getting out a little over an hour before Macabre went on! That being said, I didn't see any of the opening bands so I can't really review them. Macabre were your standard Macabre. Some people hate them live, others love them. I personally love them, they're an incredibly fun band, on record and live. This was my 3rd time seeing them and the 2nd Holiday of Horror I've been to. The drummer and bassist said that they played like shit tonight but the drummer was fucking awesome and I couldn't tell that the bassist was messing up. The frontman was spot on though. Overall, I'm very happy I made it to this show and have it end this year of shows like it did last year as well.

Macabre

Zodiak
Mary Ann
Temple of Bones
The Trial
Nero's Inferno
Nightstalker
Albert Was Worse Than Any Fish in the Sea
Mary Bell
Dracula
Scrub a Dub Dub
The Black Knight
Holidays of Horror
Burke and Hare
The Cat Came Back
You're Dying to Be With Me
The Bloody Benders (So much fun live!!!)
Serial Killer
The Iceman
Hitchhiker
Vampire of Düsseldorf

I guess not, I don't think they've ever played it live.

Yeah there is no topping Exhumed live. I wanted to see that tour as well but luckily I saw Exhumed with Goatwhore a couple months ago, just as good, if not better because Macabre is always in Chicago.

"If you can decode this message, and tell me what it means. I will give the winner 300 various metal CDs, from all great bands, from the 80s until as of late. I will also give my entire Metallica collection of rarities, an original No Life Til Leather, and my DVD collection of over 3,000, and I will pay for shipping. I am moving with my new wife, and am creating a new man cave. Giving up all of it. I'm telling you...it's worth it, and it's a promise.

THREE HINTS: A song. A Man's lesson from a show. A REASON for a BAND'S BREAK-UP. This cannot be Googled, but I AM POSITIVE, if a few of you think about it, you'll get it. Good Luck.
