Only one "pure" deathcore band is on the list. I had a surprisingly deathcore-free year this year, thank Christ.

System Divide

Opening for Eluveitie, along with 3 Inches Of Blood and Holy Grail.

Not sure why this band is getting on a bunch of tours, they're basically a slightly harder version of Evanescence that switches to really boring groove metal/metalcore/deathcore. Would've been huge 10 years ago. Honestly one of the most boring performances I've seen.

Original Review

No saving grace, see how bad they are here.

I haven't heard Global Flatline yet, but now that Sven has an outlet for shitty music I hope there won't be anymore lame Aborted records.

I've heard it. I'm not a huge Aborted fan, but I think it's okay.

The last one that was really good was Goremageddon... actually, tbh I think that's the only one that was REALLY good.

For what it's worth, System Divide would probably be a lot better (on record at least, haven't seen them live) if it were just the chick. She's pretty hot too. But the deathcore vocals ruin it.

Job For A Cowboy

Opening for Between The Buried And Me, along with The Ocean.

I think this is the fifth or sixth time I've been at a show with JFAC playing. That is far too much. Their bland boring take on deathcore-infused death metal just makes them sound incredibly muddy, the downtuned guitars and the dissonance just adds to the mediocrity. Consistently probably the worst band I've ever seen.

Saving grace: getting to see this afterwards

Oh, fuck off.

No but seriously, I don't see how you can hate them so much unless you just haven't paid attention to how they've evolved.

I wouldn't even consider myself a fan, but they're local here and I used to hate them more than you ever could. I feel that it is my duty for that reason to give them props for straightening up their act.

Son, I have listened to an immense amount of Job For A Cowboy, and I have seen them live a trillion times (well, it feels like that) and they honestly are so boring.

countless deathcore bands now play bland, pandering, uninspired Domination-era Morbid Angel ripoff death metal now. It doesn't make them good or any more legitimate, it just makes them boring.

They may be boring, but that's still a vast improvement on being shitty deathcore.

By the way, I've seen Vektor open for JFAC when they were both nothing but shitty AZ bands
