Loss and Yob are both excellent picks!

I'm pretty sure he only says that stuff to piss people off, which is kinda the opposite of putting all of your heart into something.

Everyone raves about that Disma record, but Incantation-style death metal is not my bag at ALL.

Noisear - Subvert The Dominant Paradigm

Pretty awesome grindcore/powerviolence with a good deal of experimentation thrown in. Every song is extremely memorable and Noisear really is a stand-out among the great grind acts of today.

Highlight: Global Warning

Impiety - Worshippers Of The Seventh Tyranny

Leave it to Singapore's Impiety to make a 40-minute, single-track, underground blackened death metal record. One 40 minute track might seem a bit pretentious at first, but once you put on the album, it's the same, good ol' Impiety. Sounds a lot like Bestial Mockery, which is a HUGE plus.

Negative Plane - Stained Glass Revelations

This is really one of the most unique albums I heard this year. If I had to describe it, it'd be like old-school black metal with some psychedelic elements, but not like bands like Nachtmystium. Very occult and very cool sounding.

Highlight: Lamentations and Ashes

Revocation - Chaos of Forms

Another one I was a little let-down by. "Existence Is Futile" is one of the best modern metal albums I've heard, and Chaos of Forms does a pretty good job of following it up, but it's kind of apparent they ran out of steam before they hit the end of this album. Some filler here and there, but definitely some killer as well.

Highlight: No Funeral
