This cannot be stressed enough. I went from not caring one iota about this album to now thinking it's one of the best of the year. No joke. There have been a lot of "don't count it out just yet" albums this year, at least to me, and this is one of them. The albums that take time to sink in often turn out to be the best ones.

I hear the new Grave Digger is awesome so I'll definitely be checking that out this weekend.

Epicloud is great. Not quite AOTY but I can't say i'm disappointed. My only gripe with it is that Anneke is a little under used. I thought she was gonna do as much vocals as she did on Addicted but her role was much smaller on this one.

Has anyone heard Mark Shelton's new project, Hellwell? I just finished my first listen and I'm a little disappointed. I know it'll be a grower, but it just seems like there isn't too much happening throughout the whole album. The only thing I can remember from this album is the ending of the last song, which is Shelton soloing a ton (something he seems to do at the end of a lot of his albums, which is awesome).

No but I will be, completely unaware of this one! Thanks for the heads up!

Finally listened to the new Katatonia. So far I don't like it nearly as much as Night Is the New Day but that might change after more listens. But "The Parting" is probably the best song I've heard so far this year.

Dodecahedron's self titled debut, anyone else heard this? Seriously demented awesome stuff! They call themselves black metal, but it's a lot more than just that!

Here's their bandcamp anyway:
