New Dawnbringer is amazing, better than Nucleus. I didn't think they could pull that off.
New Dying Fetus is moving up my favorite death metal releases of the year. Currently at number four behind Cannibal Corpse, Asphyx, Horrendous.

I'm in the air about the new Cattle Decapitation. One one hand there are some nasty riffs that just scream "death to all humans" and the drums are vicious but man some of those vocals just kill everything.


Shadows Fall is awesome. Nothing new or different but def one of their better releases.


I also picked up the new Willie Nelson album and that's actually pretty good itself. His son kills it on most of the tracks.

Anyway has anybody heard this new album from Dave Lombardo's new band 'Philm'? I heard a song from it today and it was interesting.

Somewhat realistically expecting before the year is out:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Rumor from a family member that heard via Cat's Cradle that a new album is in the making. This is subsequent to similar rumors from last year.

Fell Voices - Announced back in December they're working on a new LP, which will have enormous expectations after their incredible 2010 release.

Sale Freux - Just have a feeling about this one; after Subterraneus and La Mélancolie des Pennes this band is on a roll.

Arcade Fire - Internet buzz for now, but apparently something was said about it by the band specifically in a now removed Youtube video.

Loss - Announced on FB a few days ago that two splits are in the making.

Caspian - Announced on FB that recording is finished, but they haven't set a release date.


Two of the most impressive releases of the year so far that I haven't seen mentioned include Aptorian Demon's Libertus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0T8ULWtndTk), and the Enth/Amarok split (http://orcawolfrecords.bandcamp.com/...marok-split-lp).

The last I heard regarding Triptykon was that Tom has enough material written for two new albums, as well as the names for those albums, just not the resources to record.
