Crue will probably do well. I think 12 shows is ambitious though.

I will LOL if they play the same set all 12 nights

Not saying people won't go see them, I just don't get Vegas' deal with giving IMO sub par artists residencies now days.

Quality of band is irrelevant. Ticket sales are why they do it.

For sure, even looking at it like that it surprises me that they would be offering Motley Crue a 12 day residency.

Yeah, I definitely think 12 shows is ambitious.

It wouldn't be if they did it somewhere more central, perhaps. But Vegas? How many Vegas tourists are going to care about seeing Crue? They're not going to be pulling Crue fans from around the country. They'll just wait until they hit somewhere more local.

They should get bands that can at least change their setlists enough to be able to make a 12 day run be interesting.

Totally. Bon Jovi did a residency at the O2 Arena in London last year. 20 odd shows, different sets every night, loads of deep back catalogue cuts.

That's how you do it if you want people to keep coming back.

Exactly, that's one of the reasons I haven't been going to as many metal shows as I used to. Not enough variation from ter to ter. Also Mn just hasn't been getting very many shows that catch my eye.
