I've seen Tricky and Tomahawk both get booed opening for Tool, and I loved them both. The only band that didn't get booed was Meshuggah, but maybe they were and it was just too fucking loud
Also I appreciate the irony of misspelling 'genius'

![]() I was only 14 when they were so called "huge" and their music introduced me to a whole other universe of incredible music that I had not known existed... until one day my mom played the song "Sober" in her car. Their music(as well as slayer and sepultura) made a huge impact on my life growing up in Middle school/high School. I sure as fuck know and see what the big fuss is about tool. Some people don't, and you are one of them.. I apologize about my little rant as i got some what butt hurt from that comment. ![]() carry on with the thread, people.

YOB opened the last two times I saw them and we were pretty much the only people rocking the fuck out to them.
Also, it's funny that the first time I saw them they opened with Sober. All I can say is "that bass..." |

I have a lot of great memories with that album during my high school days. Riding on the bus blasting "3rd eye", "Pushit", as well as "Hooker with a penis" on maximum volume on my shitty little headphones back in 2003-2004. Awww those were the days my friend

Well looks like there is a slight possibility of this cd coming out this year.
"Even though singer Maynard James Keenan told a Chilean radio station earlier in the week that TOOL will not be releasing a new album in 2013, the band's drummer Danny Carey is hopeful that TOOL's next CD could still arrive in the next few months. "Sometime this year … that's all I can say," Carey told New Zealand's The Rock FM regarding a possible release date for the record. "The sooner the better for us. We're working every day but you can never predict it, honestly. We're really excited about it, so I hope all the fans will be too." http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.asp...sitemID=185964

I guess I grew up in a area where they weren't too popular. No one mentioned them really or wore too many TOOL shirts and the only only person I knew who a HUGE TOOL fan even admitted that it might be a little tough to get into. I gave them a ton of tries and just never got into them. All I said was I don't see the big fuss about them. You took it a little too personal from it and then inserted the same old "stick to your core blah blah blah" comeback that everyone that can't see someone Else's opinion comes back with. I also don't see the whole deal about getting high before / during a show but you wouldn't know about that would you
