Arrow The only albums I heard all year - 2014 edition

Chrome Division - Infernal Rock Eternal

The 4th release of titty Motorhead Dimmu rockers was pretty average, but it's ok, the sleaze factor remains, not quite Steel Panther territory though.

Burzum - The Ways Of Yore

Is he nuts? Yes. Is he making good music? Yes. This is a nice album that would fit well in a Pilates session or an upscale spa, not kidding!

Vintersorg - Naturbål

Honestly, almost every Vintersorg album is an extension of another, they sound the same, they feel the same, but it's not a bad thing. I still like every release from this often forgotten about group.

Judas Priest - Redeemer of Souls

A great record! It's been out of my playlist for some months now, but I have no problem putting it back on again every now and then. Some really great tunes, it makes me forget the sleep-inducing memory of Nostradamus.

Overkill - White Devil Armory

About on par with The Electric Age, but maybe a little less so. A respectable effort, Overkill releases exactly ZERO bad records.

Opeth - Pale Communion

This record is difficult to rate. It's very nice music and it's still Opeth, maybe I'll just leave it at that instead of trying to critique it more. I loved Opeth well, well, well before the nerd brigade showed up, so it's fascinating to hear all this transition.

In Flames - Siren Charms

...

Exodus - Blood In, Blood Out

I listened to this record 3 or 4 times and then done. I don't know, I'm not really connecting with this one.

At The Gates - At War With Reality

Despite the similarities to SOTS, it's a respectable release. The Book Of Sand is the best song on here, I could keep that on repeat for a whole day.

With how many albums I checked out this year, I envy you for having enough of a life to only hear 9 2014 albums this year.

Not a bad list either.

I thought I didn't listen to many albums. I also completely agree on the In Flames review.
