It seems that there are a lot more shows at the Sound Academy than there used to be, which kind of sucks since it's such a pain to get to. Getting a cab out of there can be murder. Give me the Opera House any day.

Oh god. Another show under consideration now...

Could make Montreal as well, will have to see the setlist. Darkest Hour is cool.

Problem with the Opera House is that it fits about 700, as opposed to the 3,000 or so that Sound Academy fits.

But I do agree, the Sound Academy might be my least favourite venue in Toronto, due to location and the interior of it. It's impossible to move around and get a good spot without getting squished because of how narrow it is. And if you drift near the back and want to watch the show from there you can barely see.

As far as realistic venue choices to replace Sound Academy, i'm surprised that nearly no one is booking shows at the Kool Haus anymore. That place used to get most of the mid-sized shows that came through here. Now it's like no one books there.

Unfortunately that's true. The Opera House is such a great place to see a show, it's a shame it's too small. I really don't like either the Sound Academy or the Kool Haus. The Phoenix is OK. It's a shame there aren't more venues that book metal shows in the city.

Every metal/hard-rock show I used to go to about 10-15 years ago used to be at the Warehouse/Kool Haus but I think I've only been there maybe four times in the last five years. I prefer the Kool Haus over the Sound Academy just for how much more open it is. Isn't Mastodon playing there?

$22 in advanced at Station 4, $25 at the door. I'll probably only go if I can get in for free (which might be easier then I thought). At least half the bands I don't mind seeing.

Tickets are $25 (w/o fees) for the Worcester date.

Yeah they are. I'm not a fan of the Kool Haus, but half of the reason is because they changed the name! The Warehouse is a way more badass name than the fucking Kool Haus.
