Between The Buried and Me -- Boston, MA -- October 30th, 2011
Insane show last night. Boston really got lucky on this tour with The Red Chord and Cave In as guests. Here are the sets
TesseracT Intro Concealing Fate Part Two-Deception Concealing Fate Part Three-The Impossible Concealing Fate Part Four-Perfection Concealing Fate Part Five-Epiphany Concealing Fate Part Six-Origin April Concealing Fate Part One-Acceptance The Red Chord Demoralizer Black Santa Hymns and Crippled Anthems Nihilist Hour Of Rats Birdbath Clients Prey For Eyes Antman Dreaming In Dog Years Animals As Leaders: An Infinite Regression Tempting Time Song Of Solomon Point To Point Isolated Incidents Throughly At Home Wave Of Babies Cylindircal Sea CAFO Cave In included: Vicious Circles Centered Between The Buried and Me: Mirrors Obfuscation Augment Of Rebirth Foam B: Decade Of Statues Disease, Injury, Madness Specular Reflection/Drum Solo Medley (included Alaska, All Bodies, Shavnel Cut A Flip, Arsonist,Destructo Spin and 1 other from the s/t that I am forgetting) Viradin White Walls Encore: Mordecai Here are some quick reviews: TesseracT:Anyone that is a TesseracT fan worried about Elliot Coleman as the vocalist should not be concerned. He did a great job. Hell, I actually like him a lot more than Dan. His clean vocals and screams are great. The band was tight and they were a lot heavier live. Very pleasantly surprised The Red Chord: Killed as always. This was their first show in 6 months, but you couldn't tell. There were absolutley no signs of rust. Charn from Job For A Cowboy did a damn fine job filling and the setlist was fucking badass for a one-off show (Birdbath was an especially surprising and awesome inclusion). Animals As Leaders:Watching Tosin Abasi play just leaves you in awe. That is pretty much all I have to say about their performance. Cave In: I really didn't know what to expect considering that I don't listen to these guys and I had only heard about 1-2 songs of theirs going into last night. They were really diverse and good live. At times, they were like Converge. At others, they were like Thursday or Touche Amore. I am going to check them out further for sure, very enjoyable performance. Between The Buried and Me: This was my 6th time seeing them and it was yet another flawless performance. They are pretty much always on top of their game. Their musicanship is beyond precise and Tommy Rodgers is still the best modern metal vocalist. Setlist was good (the medley was really cool and I was glad I finally got to see Mordecai live) and Blake Richardson's drum solo was amazing. I can't wait to see them for a 7th time next time they roll through Massachusetts. TesseracT 8/10 The Red Chord 9/10 Animals As Leaders 8.5/10 Cave In 8/10 Between The Buried and Me 10/10

Cave In:
Serpents Halo Of Flies Vicious Circles Air Escapes Centered Summit Fever Sing My Loves Moral Eclipse Juggernaut was quite a bummer to see how little crowd cared about them, but i suppose that was sort of expected, not to mention hard to follow up such a showy band like AAL that clearly a lot of people where there to see. |

No Sunrise from Tesseract sucks, but I'm sure that's because of the addition of bands. Very pumped to see this! First time I've ever got VIP, too. I might kiss Tosin's feet.

Indeed it is, TesseracT was the only band that had to cut a song. Speaking of Tosin, some kid yelled "Tosin, I want take you home with me" about halfway through the set and he was laughing so hard he had to delay the intro to "Song Of Solomon" It was a great, great show. You will have a fucking blast.

The song you're forgetting is Aspirations, they close the medley with the end of it.

Thank you! That's never been a song I was a huge fan of (I haven't heard it in years), I'm not surprised I didn't recognize it.
