Montrose -- Foxboro, MA -- October 13th, 2011
I was looking forward to this show. For some reason, I also had some trepidation................
Micheal Lee Firkins- This guy opened the show. I missed the first couple of songs. Here's what I caught- Black Betty War Pigs Hold On (?) Voodoo Child There were a couple of blues songs mixed in. He was pretty good. His version of War Pigs was interesting. Montrose- Rock The Nation Good Rockin' Tonight I Got The Fire I Don't Want It Spaceage Sacrifice Make It Last Voyager ![]() Rock Candy Space Station #5 Encore- Bad Motor Scooter (With Micheal Lee Firkins) The more I digest this show, the more disappointed I am. Ten songs in 80+ minutes. Sure he had amp problems, but if you play the studio versions of these songs the time total is 45-50 min. That means 30 min of jerking off. The show was a seated show(?). There was no energy. Merch was cool. I'll cross him off my " wanting to see list ". However, I will never pay money to see him again. I overheard people saying that Micheal Lee Firkins was the best opening band they had ever seen. Don't even get me started.............

I saw Montrose about 3 years ago and they played the whole 1st album and I got the Fire. My only complaint was that they didn't play Spaceage Sacrifice.
It's pretty cool that they are playing a Gamma song or 2, but they can't compare to anything from the 1st. album |
