Black Metal Month 2011

I kinda had fun doing this last year, so I figure I'll try it again this year. Didn't complete it last year if I remember correctly.

October is the most evil and kvltest month of the year, so of course it's international black metal month.

I'm going to post a black metal song per day to try and get newbs to the genre more educated about where to go from here. This is definitely just for funsies.

Oct. 1 - 7: First Wave
Oct. 8 - 14: Second Wave
Oct. 15 - 21: Current black metal
Oct. 22 - 28: Underground black metal
Oct. 29 - 31: TRICK OR TREAT

----

October 1st

Venom - Black Metal

Venom (ENG)
"Black Metal"
Black Metal (1982)

Not black metal in the strictest sense, but undoubtedly helped give birth to the scene. More about the imagery and the evil lyrics, Venom were definitely terrifying for their time. Totally a classic.

Awesome! Black Metal is the genre I wanted to get into the most, but never truly could. I'll definitely be following this one closely.

JD, you listen to Emperor, Enslaved, and Alcest.

Shut up. You're doing better than the people that listen to Cradle of Filth and think THAT's black metal.

Video not available in my country. I looked up a different one though, it was pretty good. I like the chorus. Not something I ever think I'd buy a CD of or put on my ipod though. Interested to see what the other days are like.
