How in the name of Satan can you not like Crack The Skye? Or rank it below The Hunter for that matter!

Listened to it driving the other day for the first time since '09 (when it was in the bottom portion of my top ten, mind you) and it's just...boring. Oblivion is good, parts of the Czar are good, parts of the Last Baron are good, the title track is alright, Divinations, Quintessence, and Ghost of Karelia are bad.

Backed. It's not a bad album, but definitely not as good as any other album they've done.

Brad, usually I have a LOT of respect for your opinions on these kind of things, but that's complete bullshit.

Completely serious. It was just a little too soft-prog for me, if that makes sense. I've said it once and I'll say it again:

1. Blood Mountain (PERFECT album in my opinion. Best prog/heavy/sludge mix.)
2. Leviathan (Close second. It just isn't prog crazy like BM, hence the lower slot.)
3. Remission (PURE sludge heaviness!)
4. Call of the Mastodon (More sludge heaviness, but songwriting not quite on par with Remission.)
5. The Hunter (Heavier, with some prog elements, but songwriting seems like they didn't put as much time into it.)
6. Crack The Skye (Not much heavy to it at all, very out there progginess, not BAD, but just not as good as their other stuff.)

That being said, The Czar live was awesome. But when they went right into Capillarian Crest afterwards, there was obviously no comparison.

There's three things wrong with this:

A) Remission is higher than Leviathan.

B) Blood Mountain is higher than Leviathan and Crack The Skye.

C) The Hunter is higher than Leviathan and Crack The Skye.
