Katatonia -- Montreal, Quebec -- September 18th, 2011
Venue: Foufounes Électriques
Opening band: Unbeing This was one of the best concerts I've ever attended! It was a headlining date before the tour with Opeth, and they played the full "Last Fair Deal Gone Down" album for its tenth anniversary. I can't describe by words the experience of seeing this band live, I was just in a trance-like state. The best moment was obviously the two old songs they played with Anders on vocals . The sound mix was perfect, just as the music and the band had a massive stage presence. Heaven's Cry wasn't bad also. They're a prog/power metal band from Montreal and this was their reunion show after 6 years. The guitarist is Éric from Despised Icon. Heaven's Cry Gaïa's Judgement The Horde Divisions Masterdom's Profit Remembrance Your God's Crime The Alchemist Katatonia Dispossession Chrome We Must Bury You Teargas I Transpire Tonight's Music Clean Today The Future of Speech Passing Bird Sweet Nurse Don't Tell a Soul -------------------------- For My Demons Nephilim My Twin The Longest Year Wait Outside I Break July -------------------------- Without God * Murder * Dissolving Bonds Forsaker * with Anders on vocals and Jonas on guitar

Awesome set. Hopefully they play Murder or something else from BMD on the Opeth tour... preferably with Mikael instead of Anders on vocals!

What a great setlist, I wish they would do that for Chicago.

More or less the set I saw back in May. Except we had 'Brave' instead of 'Murder', and a couple of other differences.

I've seen Murder. Kinda bummed to be getting it instead of Brave.
But seriously, the first 11 songs of that set are probably going to be enough to make this an all-time favorite show contender. Last Fair Deal is probably one of my 10-20 favorite albums of all time.
