No, I think you would really like them. You should go buy a bunch of their discs as soon as possible!

I was just ignoring him. Let alone the fact that if anything Parkway is considered Hardcore and not whatever kind of music BMTH is.

I've seen them live, and they all wore ball shorts and had shitty gauges. One of them kept playing with his hair, between songs, and even during songs.

Yeah, it's obvious that PD are a hardcore-inspired metalcore band. One of the first waves of metalcore, too, back when it had a good name. You'll go to shows and see Winston wearing 50 Lions or Trapped Under Ice shirts. Very far from "scene", which is pretty dead nowadays anyway compared to the myspace years.

The big new thing is pseudo-hardcore (aka "IKEACORE") hardcore kids, a la Defeater, Have Heart, Touche Amore, etc. Which is actually good music in my opinion, so I'm fine.

Sarge D coined it. I think it's pretty hilarious, and describes that music perfectly.

http://www.stuffyouwillhate.com/2011...iked-hardcore/

"The key features of IKEACORE as a genre mirror the weak, disgusting nature of its fans: dull, vaguely ‘punk’ music that is neither melodic nor heavy (see Fugazi); hoarse, ‘braying donkey’ style vocals that are completely tuneless (but it’s OK because they are are ‘singing with so much emotion’); and lyrics about stuff that liberal whites are into such as how great poor people are, unjust events in faraway countries or feeling sad about some bullshit."

It's also known as emotive hardcore or hipster hardcore. I still love Touché Amoré though.
