We used to have "the poll hole" as a sub forum, but after awhile it got pretty quiet. I think Ed just ended up merging it into general chat.

I think we need more sections in general. As I've said before, this isn't an incredibly fast-moving message board. We need greater parameters for pointless nonsense.

Years and years ago I got in trouble on a different message board for making a poll on my first day. I got my thread deleted and warned by a mod because supposedly polls take up more bandwidth (is that the right word? Server space?) than regular threads. Not sure if that is true for M-S....either way, I don't open the poll threads because they bore the shit out of me and I can waste my near-aspy obsession on more important things.

At least we could pin all of the Fonzie threads on Fonz, but these are annoying and we can't point any fingers.

General chat is perfect for them I think. This board right now has the perfect number of sub forums, video games etc., for everyone who's interested in them. Polls would just get posted in the General Chat section anyway to make sure everyone sees them!

I take the blame for the poll fad. I made the Favorite Death album thread and then 20 new polls popped up within the next week.
