Metallica & Lou Reed - "Lulu"

http://www.facebook.com/LouReedMetallica?sk=info

November 1st (North America), October 31st (Rest of the World)

The musical collaboration between Lou Reed and Metallica, "Lulu," is coming your way this Fall.

"Lulu" was inspired by German expressionist writer Frank Wededkind's plays "Earth Spirit" and "Pandora's Box," which tell a story of a young abused dancer's life and relationships and are now collectively known as the "Lulu Plays." Since their publication in the early 1900's, the plays have been the inspiration for a silent film ("Pandora's Box," 1929), an opera, and countless other creative endeavors. Originally the lyrics and musical landscape were sketched out by Lou for a theatrical production, but after coming together with the 'Tallica boys for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concerts in New York in 2009 all guilty parties knew they wanted to make more music together. Lou was inspired enough by that performance to recently ask the band to join him in taking his theatrical "Lulu" piece to the next level and so starting in early May of this year we were all camped out recording at HQ studios in Northern California, bringing us to today and ten complete songs.

We can't wait to share this music and the whole experience with you.

I'm looking forward to it. IT will get bashed beyond belief by anyone under 35. But I'll probably dig it.

I am not sure what to think about this, so I just won't until the time comes that I have to.

I think people of all ages will bash it. Metallica fans over 35 will probably bash it the most since they were around when Metallica first went to shit in the late 80s.

This may turn out to be really stupid but I'll give it a chance.

I think there's a possibility that they will do a small one-off show for this album.

Why would people under 35 be more likely to bash it? It's more logical to assume that the older Metallica fans would bash it more, considering they were around when Metallica weren't fucking horrible. Anyway, I'm not sure what to expect from this, it could really go either way.

If this gets all their stupid Deep Purple wannabe tendencies out of the way so the next album can be pure unadulterated speed metal, that's fine be me.

Lulu is an odd title though.

The reason I said what I said is because anyone that I've talked about about this project with that was the cutoff line

Under 35- Fucking hate it, they are working with an old guy who's not metal, and theyw ill make shitty music.

Over 35- Yeah I'll check it out, I might dig it.
