Sacred Reich - Ignorance

I look at this one as an underrated classic. It's also another one of those albums that's different from most thrash albums, but it's hard to explain in words, you have to listen to it to understand that.

You know how you're listening to a song and then comes that boring part you don't really care for and could do without, causing you to skip to another song? This album doesn't have any of that. In better terms, it's all killer, no filler. That's what makes Ignorance stand out from a lot of thrash albums.

Everything on here is amazing. You can hear every instrument near perfectly. The guitar on here is a huge stand out though out of everything. The riffs, be it slow or fast, are consistently awesome throughout the album. There are a lot of great guitar solos on here scattered throughout various parts of songs that tie them together.

If a part of a song isn't fast and chaotic, the mid paced or slow areas don't disappoint as well. It's pretty much throughout the entire album (minus Layed to Rest, the clean song which flawlessly leads into the title track, probably my favorite Sacred Reich song).

As it says on the album picture, Ignorance is a metal classic and if you haven't heard it by now you need to check it out.

Highlights:
Ignorance
No Believers
Sacred Reich

Well you and I are both in luck then.

I think I'll post 2 reviews tonight, not back to back but within like 2 hours of each other.

Kreator - Pleasure to Kill

"Kreator" or "Pleasure to Kill" are more than likely the first thing that comes to everyone's minds when someone mentions "German thrash". This is probably one of the most famous thrash albums of all time. Everyone knows this album and pretty much everyone enjoys it as well.

This album is damn near the epitome of chaotic thrash. The production, the lightning fast riffs and drums, the evil and just all around awesome lyrics, the crazy vocals, all of it makes this album what it is. I really don't know what else to say about this album except that it will melt your face off. The title track is the epitome of blazing fast circle pitting face bashing nutcase violence.

1986 was a crazy year for metal. This and many other releases helped form the more violent and chaotic side of thrash. If you like very fast and innovative thrash and for some unholy reason you haven't heard this album, check it out.

Highlights:
Under the Guillotine
Pleasure to Kill
Ripping Corpse

Pleasure to Kill FTW!

There's a couple albums on here that I haven't heard, gotta fix that soon. Also, I CANNOT STAND Vio-lence's vocals. My balls have dropped, if you must know, but that's irrelavent...

Destruction - The Antichrist

After a 10 year "hiatus" and some time to regroup, Destruction had came back with a solid record, All Hell Breaks Loose. While that was a solid comeback, they then came out with this beast of an album.

Released in 2001, The Antichrist shows that old school thrash metal was still going strong in the 2000s. This album is in the vein of Pleasure to Kill in terms of being chaotic and just all around crazy thrash.

The guitar, while not being very spectacular in terms of technicality, sticks out the most in a different but still great way. The tone of it makes the album sound fast and violent. The vocals go well with the guitar, Schmier's voice is perfect for thrash like this. Very powerful and straight up pissed off.

While not an "old school" album, I personally think that this is the real Destruction comeback and will be recognized as one of their best.

Highlights:
Thrash till Death
Nailed to the Cross
Creations of the Underworld
