Foaming at the Mouth was on the Decline of Western Civilization too. Always loved that song.

Anyway, #2 coming shortly

Coroner - No More Color

Often referred to as the thrash metal version of Rush, Coroner is a very technical when it comes to making thrash metal. No More Color is where they started adding more progressive elements into their music and as a result, they made quite possibly their best album.

Every member in this band is VERY skilled at their instrument and they definitely show it on this album. If you've listened to Coroner before, you should know that the biggest standout in this band and especially this album is guitarist Tommy Vetterli. This dude is a beast on the guitar. His riffs aren't what you'd find in thrash, he adds huge twists to them to make them technical yet catchy and memorable at the same time (D.O.A. is a great example of this). He writes better riffs than most bands write entire albums. And his solos... oh man, these are just legendary. You just gotta listen to them to see. They all flow together so well. I don't even know how to describe them other than EPIC. All the songs are the best examples of his guitar solos since, well, what is Coroner without awesome guitar solos?

Not to say that the other 2 members aren't good at what they do, because they are. Tommy just has the big spotlight on this album. The bass actually does it's own thing sometimes but also follows the complicated guitar parts which is impressive. In my opinion, the vocals aren't that important on here compared to the instrumental parts, but I do really like Ron's vocals. They suit the music very well and he's got some cool lyrics but the guitar, bass and drums are where it's at. All the instruments are audible on here which is a huge plus with this album.

I've asked a bunch of people about what their favorite Coroner album is, and the majority of them say this one. It's not hard to figure out why, this album is pretty much a masterpiece. I always recommend this album to everyone and everyone so far has enjoyed it thoroughly. You should all listen to it too if you haven't already!

Oh, and my only complaint about this album? It's too damn short!

Highlights:
Die By My Hand
No Need To Be Human
Read My Scars
D.O.A.
Mistress of Deception
Tunnel of Pain - By far my favorite Coroner song of all time
Why It Hurts
Last Entertainment (T.V. Bizarre)

Prefer Punishment for Decadence, but this is a great album.

Yeah that's probably my second favorite, but I've listened to it a bunch of times and to me it isn't as memorable as No More Color.
